KICKLINE DETAILS - 2010

Dancers of all ages should arrive on the Capitol steps, sporting individual dance school memorabilia, ready for a jazz stretch warm-up. The warm-up should last approximately 15 to 20 minutes. A short kickline routine will be taught to all dancers, preparing them for the actual kickline at 12:30 pm. Dancers should wear comfortable seasonal clothing, i.e. sweatshirts, stretch pants and sneakers. If it rains, festivities will be held in the Capitol Rotunda. Dancers of all ages are welcome. This portion of the event is FREE and does not require pre-registration.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

Immediately following the Capitol Kickline, master class workshops will be conducted by international, national and local choreographers in jazz/hip hop, tap, and lyrical at the Harrisburg Hilton and Towers in downtown Harrisburg. Dancers ages six through adult are welcome. Pre-registration is required.

The cost is $35.00 for Beginners; $45.00 for Junior, Intermediate, and Advanced workshops. Prices include lunch, workshop, facility rental, surprise giveaway and an awesome time. All dancers should wear dancewear and proper shoes. The workshop will be closed to the public, except for the last 15 minutes when everyone is welcome to observe the choreography that has been learned.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

11:45 a.m. - Arrive at the Capitol steps, 3rd & State Streets, Harrisburg, PA. (If it rains, the festivities will be held in the Rotunda.)

12:00 p.m. – Dancers will participate in a jazz stretch warm-up and learn choreography for the Kickline.

12:30 p.m. – Official KICKLINE “kickingoff” National Dance Week.

12:45 p.m. – Pre-registered workshop dancers should depart for the Harrisburg Hilton & Towers (within walking distance).

1:00 p.m. – Lunch at the Harrisburg Hilton & Towers for all dancers registered for the workshops. (DANCERS ONLY)

1:30 p.m. – Workshops begin for Beginner, Junior, Intermediate and Advanced dancers.

2:15 p.m. – Conclusion of Beginner Workshop. Parents return to observe Beginner Workshop. Door Prizes will be awarded.

3:45 p.m. – Parents may observe the choreography learned at the Jr., Inter. & Adv. workshops.

4:00 p.m. – Conclusion of demonstration workshops and door prizes! Dancer’s Showcase FREE EVENT.

Dancer’s Showcase - NEW this year!

One dance group from each studio (selected by studio owner) will present a performance piece of their choice. The Dancer’s Showcase will be held immediately following the workshop demonstrations. Make sure you leave time in your day to stay and support the participating studios in our first, soon to be an annual event, Dancer’s Showcase.
